Kingskerswell & Chelston reached the semi finals of the Herald cup with a hard fought game at home to fellow Premier side Brixham United. Sixteen year old Sean Adderley was the hero of the day as his solo effort separated the two sides in a 1-0 win.
There will be a new name on the Fred Hewings cup this season. Holders Buckland Athletic Thirds travelled to Hele Rovers Reserves and lost 2-0. On target for Hele were Jay Etoe and Robin Davey.
Belli Cup favourites Upton Athletic booked their place in the final of this years tournament at the expense of their hosts Totnes & Dartington Reserves. Darren Bastow, Ian Bastow, Alex Bastow, and Andrew Walker scored for Upton, with George Mariner, and Jamie Newton replying.
Second placed East Allington dropped to points in their pursuit of Premier Division leaders Upton Athletic with a 0-0 draw at home to Kingsteignton Athletic.
Both Newton Spurs Reserves and Brixham Villa won 2-0 at home to pull themselves away from the relegation zone. Spurs defeated Waldon Athletic with goals from Dave Hodgson, and Scott McArthur, whilst Chris Mitchell and Dan Rankin scored for Villa as they beat Riviera Spurs to keep Riviera firmly planted at the bottom of the table.
Abbotskerswell are the new Division One leaders. Goals from Ashley Kyle.2., James Woodmore, Ryan Gillingwater, and James Despard Clark helped them to a 5-2 win at Loddiswell for whom Ritchie Hammett and Richard Gomm replied.
Brixham Villa Reserves dropped to second following a 1-0 defeat at Ipplepen Athletic. Tom Sercombe scored the only goal of the game.
Watts Blake Bearne won 4-2 at Paignton Saints to join Brixham Villa on twenty three points. Hitting the net were Barkwell.2., Froude, and Hutchings, with Coombes, and Downing replying.
Moretonhampstead moved out of the bottom two and Newton 66 dropped into their place. The two met at Newton 66, and Moretonhampstead ended the game the happiest by winning 7-2. Moretons Wes Gavillet notched a hat trick, which was added to by Mark Westlake.2., Ben Elfick, and Mike Wright. John Cline scored both 66 replies.
Division Two leaders Buckland Athletic travelled to second placed Teign Village with goal difference separating the two teams. But, Bucklands Malcolm Douglas put his side three points clear at the end of the game by hitting all three goals in his sides 3-0 win.
The match between fourth and third ended in fourth placed Harbertonford beating third placed visitors Newton United 3-1 courtesy of goals from Sam Grey, Ben Karkeek, and an own goal.
Both the bottom two in Division Three recorded wins. Goals from Anthony Lacey.2., Tom Heathman.2., and Richard Wills helped bottom side Ilsington Villa to a 5-1 home win over Totnes & Dartington 3rds. Wes Abercrombie replied.
In the meantime, Liverton United Reserves who were one place higher than Ilsington scored four without reply at home to Brixham Town. Ross Buschin notched a hat trick, with Brett Jones making up the total.
At the other end leaders Buckfastleigh Rangers Reserves won 3-1 at Waldon Athletic Reserves with Aaron De Young scoring twice, and Brett Easterbrook once.
It was bottom at home to second bottom in Division Four when Abbotskerswell Reserves entertained Loddiswell Reserves, at it was Loddiswell who went home happiest winning 5-4.
At the other end leaders Staverton & Landscove won 4-2 at Malborough United with the goals being shared between Chris Head, Josh Zimmerman, Matt Pittocco, and Tim George, whilst second placed Hookhills United kept the pressure on them with a Carl Bradley goal giving them a 1-0 win at home to Stoke Gabriel 3rds.
