Being the only Premier teams left in the Herald Cup, CHAGFORD and WATTS BLAKE BEARNE shared five goals in the first thirty-one minutes of their match. Robbie Miller (2) pulled WBB back from a two nil lead (Tom Sercombe and Christian Pople) before Sercombe scored again, giving Watts a narrow half-time advantage. Dan Spargo then netted to ensure WBB meet Hookhills United in the first semi-final. BUCKLAND RESERVES saw off BABBACOMBE CORINTHIANS 3-0 the goals coming from Lee Passmore, Justin Osborne and Lee Pike to set up a semi-final with Denbury Athletic.
There will be a new name on the George Belli Cup this summer as GALMPTON GENTS beat the holders BRIXHAM VILLA, after extra-time. John Glasser's second for Gents was a winning penalty. Neil Dyke netted for Villa. ASHBURTON will face Gents in the final after edging past KINGSKERSWELL & CHELSTON in the penalty shoot-out, following a goal-less 120 minutes.
NEWTON ABBOT SPURS RESERVES' Alex Slatter scored twice to help his side into the Dartmouth Cup final, Mitchell Simms and Ryan Saunders also contributing to a 4 nil win over BRIXHAM VILLA RESERVES. HARBERTONFORD stunned IPPLEPEN ATHLETIC 3-2, young Aron Bartlett scoring their winner two minutes from time. Zeb Peters and Dan Bovey also scored for Fords, Alex Bayliss and Grant Fawkes netting for Pens.
NEWTON UNITED will contest the Lidstone Cup final with BEESANDS ROVERS after overcoming NEWTON '66, through a solitary Craig Price goal. Rovers knocked out KINGKERSWELL & CHELSTON RESERVES thanks to goals from Daniel Knight, Rob Green, Guy Watson and Jack Ballinger. Sam Burke replied.
HOOKHILLS UNITED won comfortably at LIVERTON RESERVES, Ross Bradley scoring three, Carl Bradley two and Ian Collis one. Sean Joint and Steve Prowse scored for the home side. STOKE FLEMING ended TEIGNMOUTH RESERVES recent run of form 4-2 and reached the final of the Ronald Cup. Craig Danbury, Sean Vale, Antony Matthews and Gary Aldous scored for Stoke, Steve Proctor and Sam Chapman for their visitors.
TORBAY CHRISTIANS went down heavily, in the second round of the Les Bishop cup, at BUCKLAND ATHLETIC THIRDS, Ben Cowley leading the way with three.
In the Bill Treeby cup, Matt Coombes' three for PAIGNTON SAINTS RESERVES undid IPPLEPEN RESERVES who reckoned their visitors deserved the victory to get to the final. Saints will meet BABBACOMBE CORRIES RESERVES who won 3-1 at RIVIERA SPURS.
Dave Steer and skipper Paul Gimson helped BOVEY TRACEY THIRDS to overcome divisional leaders BISHOPSTEIGNTON UNITED and make the the Ivor Andrews final to face BUCKFASTLEIGH RANGERS RESERVES. Rangers won 2-1 at DITTISHAM UNITED care of goals from Michael Howse and Matt Byfield. Dan Bastin netted for Dittisham.
In the Premier division, UPTON ATHLETIC extended their lead at the top with a fine 4-1 win at TOTNES & DARTINGTON RESERVES. Ryan Little hit a hat-trick, Lee Chamberlain the other. Ben Barry scored for the Darts who remain second from bottom. Dexter Allsworth scored for the home side as BRIXHAM UNITED drew 1-1 with EAST ALLINGTON UNITED. Simon Hannaford had the guests' goal. WALDON ATHLETIC did the double over HELE ROVERS courtesy of goals from Harley Critchlow, Curtis Booth and Gavin Fitzgerald's late winner.
CHUDLEIGH ATHLETIC took all three points at UPTON ATHLETIC RESERVES in Division One, with goals from Nigel Drury and Dan Yates. Tom Ogilvie scored Upton's only goal. STAVERTON & LANDSCOVE followed their midweek draw with Ipplepen Athletic with a comfortable win at DARTMOUTH RESERVES. James Watt, Lewis Cox, Jon McClements and Si McClements more than cancelled out Rupert Anderson's goal.
STOKE GABRIEL RESERVES emphasised their Division Two promotion credentials with a thumping 8 nil win at KINGSTEIGNTON RESERVES. Matt White (3) and Carl Baker (2) easing them on their way. Doble (3), Kniveton, Tallard, and Rooney notched HELE ROVERS RESERVES goals as they beat BRIXHAM UNITED RESERVES. LANGDON went nap against EAST ALLINGTON RESERVES without reply, a treble from Tom Chapman-Hunt helping them climb the table.
In Division Three, FOXHOLE UNITED lifted themselves to a 6-3 win at NEWTON SPURS THIRDS. Anthony Cole's hat-trick being the difference between the two. A Shane Douglas double helped leaders BOVEY TRACEY RESERVES win at SOUTH BRENT for whom Lee Soper scored. WBB RESERVES go third, Kevin Iddon's strike beating WALDON ATHLETIC RESERVES. Richard Downing' double went a long way for TOTNES & DARTINGTON 3RDS to overcome DARTMOUTH 3RDS.
DENBURY ATHLETICS' Matt Guy scored both as his team edged the Division Four top-of-the-table clash with WATCOMBE WANDERERS, Royston Carrington's penalty being Wanders reply. ABBOTSKERSWELL RESERVES and MALBOROUGH UNITED shared ten goals, the home side ending victorious.
The top two in Division Five, STOKE FLEMING and BRIXHAM VILLA 3RDS both won but NEWTON '66 RESERVES are clawing their way back from the bottom. They beat CHAGFORD RESERVES to move within two points of safety. Tom Dale and Tom Birch scored the goals to cancel out Jon Scarry's goal for the visitors. CHUDLEIGH RESERVES made it a club double in beating MARLDON. Jack Wilkins (3) and Alan Ballard did the damage against a depleted Marldon for whom Ant Roach had a consolation.
TEIGN VILLAGE RESERVES won the only Division Six match, 2-1 against KINGSBRIDGE & KELLATON, scoring all three goals in the process. Chris Towle and Dan Martin scored for the villagers, Tim Walker with an o.g. for United.
